La Carrière Gite accommodation with swimming pool and hot tub is available in the exceptionally picturesque village of Albas. Situated 25km west of Cahors, Albas is situated on a cliff overlooking the Lot river. The village has narrow streets lined with old houses. There are many great restaurants, cafes, vineyards, shops and bakeries close by as well as famous sites such as Rocamadour and St Cirq Lapopie. The villagers are extremely friendly and organise events such as wine festivals, village fetes, concerts and dinners where the local foods, wines and French hospitality can be enjoyed throughout the year.

The large private swimming pool (12 metres x 6 metres) is situated on a lower level next to a small orchard and barbecue area. It is reached via a terrace along side the manor house and through the boathouse. The pool area is very private, fenced and equipped with loungers, chairs, tables and other comforts. Large summer kitchen with cooker, fridge, dishwasher and hot/cold water. During the summer months the pool area receives sunlight throughout the day. Shaded areas can be found in the orchard or under the umbrellas provided. The pool area has lovely views over the river and surrounding countryside. The large paved patio has plenty of room for you to lay back in loungers and relax.

Our village of Albas is located in the centre of many superb vineyards that are famous for the original Malbec grape where generations of families have passed on their skills of viticulture to produce excellent wines from the region.

Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is a commune in the Lot department in south-western France. It is a member of the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France ("The most beautiful villages of France") association .Its position, originally selected for defense, perched on a steep cliff 100 m above the river has helped make the town one of the most popular tourist destinations in the department, and the entire town is almost a museum. After it was "discovered" by the Post-Impressionist Henri Martin, it became popular with other artists and the home of the writer André Breton.
